During ELA class, we will  learn new strategies  to  become better readers.  Using student-selected and classroom materials, you will  analyze word choice and the actions of the characters.  You will learn to paraphrase and summarize text so you can identify the central idea and support it with evidence. This in turn will help you to become a better writer.  You will be taught to produce clear and coherent writing with development of events.

Staying motivated to read and produce a quality written product is  challenging. A strong work ethic is a necessary component of a successful student. It is my hope that all my students will embrace this challenge.
