Welcome to Mrs. Hoffmann's
This week we continue the Holy season of Lent. Children will learn about performing good deeds for others during Lent as we prepare for Easter. We will talk about sharing with others. We are also learning about the Church.
This week we will continue to discuss the season of spring. We will review numbers 1-5 and use connecting cubes to count and compare numbers. The children will discuss feelings this week. I will tell the children the story of Little Red Riding Hood and discuss how fairy tales begin and end. The class will sort Easter eggs and begin to create Easter crafts. Next week we will celebrate grandparents and VIP's.The Easter Bunny will visit.
Tomorrow, Thursday, March 30th is the last day that orders for the Easter Bunny breakfast will be accepted.
Our school will be participating in a Lenten activity to help the homeless. Mr. Arpino has asked that the children create wash-up kits for the homeless. In a gallon size zip-lock bag place the following items (hotel or trial size):
- Lip Balm
All items must be in the bag. If you are unable to get all of the items, please put a note with the bag naming the missing items. Send the bag to school with your child. Thank you so much for your participation. This will be a wonderful way for the children to learn about helping others.
As the weather gets warmer we will begin to go outside to play. Please remember to dress appropriately for outside playtime. Sneakers are best.
Remember that bathroom accidents still occur from time to time. Please check the clothes you are sending for accidents for sizing and season. Shoes must also be sent with the extra set of clothes.
We are still in need of paper towels and baby wipes in the classroom. We would appreciate any donations you can make to our room.
Please remember to label all of the items your child brings to school. Children should bring a change of clothes, including socks and shoes, in case of a bathroom accident. These items should be kept in a labeled Ziploc bag in your child's backpack. Children may not bring nut products to school. This includes hazelnut items.
Box Tops for education is a
great way to support our school. When a Nursery or Pre-K student brings 30 valid Box Tops in one month, they will earn a free hot pretzel.
