Mrs. Donohue's Biography

Hello and welcome to St. Mary School’s webpage. My name is Marytheresa Donohue, and I have been part of the St. Mary School family for 20 years.  This year I am teaching grades 7 and 8 English language arts as well as religion to 7A.

Before I moved to Suffolk County from Nassau County, I taught 7th and 8th grade for eight years at St. Barnabas School in Bellmore (my elementary school alma mater), which then regionalized and became St. Elizabeth Ann Seton with two campuses: one in Bellmore and one in East Meadow.  When my husband and I first moved to Suffolk, we knew how important it was to find a Catholic school for our sons, which fortunately for us would be St. Mary. So our children attended the school of which I would then be lucky enough to become part!

I earned a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from Molloy College in English with a teacher certification for grades 7-12. I then obtained my Master’s degree in English from Long Island University. I also hold an advanced religion certification from the Diocese of Rockville Centre.

It is a great and rewarding opportunity to be part of the St. Mary School faculty where instructing students in their faith is priority.   Thank you for choosing St. Mary School!
