Students will be asked to self-select a novel from a teacher-provided list approximately every five to six weeks. 

 Students will be  asked to read a pre-determined number of pages from their self-selected novels each week. They will have some time in class to read, but if they find they need more time to reach their goal, they can certainly finish their reading outside of school or on the weekend.

Each week, students will complete two pages in their Reading Response Journal (RRJ), which is in Google Classroom, and is due on Mondays. There will be rubric and special instructions  for each RRJ assignment in Google Classroom and the rubric will be used to grade their work as a homework assignment. 

Students began selecting novels from my classroom library on September 13th and their first RRJ is due on Monday, September 23rd.
