Biography
I am thrilled to be together again with many of my former 5th grade students as I now teach middle school English language arts!
My educational background includes an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and Special Education from St. Joseph’s College, and a graduate degree in Literacy Education from Long Island University. I hold professional teaching certificates in General Education, Special Education, and Literacy. I am also a member of the National Council of Teachers of English.
I began my teaching career at Our Lady of Wisdom Regional School in Port Jefferson where I taught ELA and social studies to students in sixth, seventh, and eighth grade for five years. Upon the closure of Our Lady of Wisdom in 2020, I began teaching at St. Mary School. Here at St. Mary, I taught 5th grade math and science for four years and in 2024, I returned to teaching middle school English language arts. I feel like I have come home at last as I am rediscovering my passion for teaching reading and writing to middle school students.
