Welcome to first grade.  I am Mrs. Vinciguerra.  I am very excited for this year and cannot wait to be your child's teacher.  I will do my best to make your child feel as comfortable as possible.  In my classroom I want learning to be fun and accommodating to all learning styles.  My classroom is made to feel like one big, happy family in which everyone is welcome with open arms and treated with respect.  I believe students should feel secure and enthusiastic at school.  
     The first few weeks of school we will focus on getting to know one another and building a strong classroom community.  Some of our goals in first grade are to strengthen our reading and writing skills along with excelling in  math, especially addition and subtraction facts.  Students will be taught in whole group instruction, small group instruction, through their peers, and independently .  I will incorporate all of our core subjects through many thematic units.  
     Most importantly, I strive to teach my students to be kind and caring to each other and to everyone.  I encourage and practice being supportive to each other academically and socially.  I work on communicating our thoughts and feelings and coming together to be the best students and friends that we can be! I incorporate the teachings of our Catholic faith in all our endeavours.
     I cannot wait for a fun and exciting school year!

Welcome to 1A!
We have a very exciting year ahead of us!

Please be sure to fill out Pick up Patrol it is important that you do this so we know how your child will go home.  

When picking up your child for walkers/ car riders please park in the mark stalls in the second row .

Your children need a snack and two drinks daily .
 They need to bring lunch and snack daily.  If your child attends aftercare they will need an additional snack. They will need lunch and snack provided until the lunch program begins. 

Classroom supplies of tissues , paper towels, baby wipes will need to be replenished. If you did not send them in, when I ask for more please do so then.
 Check your child's "H" book (Homework) Assignments will be daily posted to our  google classroom.
I am looking forward to a fabulous year with your children.
