As per Mrs. McMahon, as the weather gets colder (below 42 degrees), students must wear a heavy sweatshirt or jacket to recess. They may not go outside if they do not have something to wear over their uniform. Gym jackets and school sweaters do not count toward this requirement.  

Tomorrow is Dress-Down Day ($2 donation). Shorts may not be worn.

Next week begins Healthy Choices Week. Please note the following:
Tuesday 11/19-Team Up to Make Good Choices- Wear your favorite sports team shirt, sweatshirt, or jersey.
Thursday 11/21  We are RED-Y to Say Yes to Healthy Choices- Wear red accessories and donate $1 to receive a red bracelet to show you are ready to make healthy choices. (Donation goes to St. Mary food pantry.)
Friday-11/22-St. Mary Spirit Day- Wear school colors or SMS gear to show the positive impact that SMS has on our students and community. (Dress Down Day).

St. Vincent de Paul is hosting a food drive to support the St. Mary pantry for the holidays. For every non-perishable item donated, students will receive a turkey to color and decorate their homeroom doors. The homeroom with the most turkeys will win a dress-down day!

Monday 10/28-SMS Student Council-Trick or Chalk: Students may bring chalk to decorate the SMS blacktop for Halloween during recess. Each homeroom will be photographed and classes will vote for their favorite design. (The homeroom with the best design will win an ice cream party at lunch!)

Tuesday 10/22-Unity Day-Dress Down Day- Wear orange to unite against bullying and promote acceptance, kindness, and inclusion. (No charge.)

Wednesday 10/23-Day of Giving. Students are encouraged to buy pizza for lunch on Wednesday, 10/23. The Pizzeria in Islip is donating $5 for every pie purchased to the families of the West Babylon tragedy.

September 27, 2024 Pink accessories may be worn with the uniform on Monday to honor Bella Trezza, a senior at St. John the Baptist Diocesan High School, who passed away this week. It is NOT a dress-down day.

The SMS Parents Association Pumpkin Patch will be on Wednesday, October 2nd. 
A $15 participation fee is due Monday, September 30th.
